Girls’ Health, Dignity & Leadership

Through our Girls Leadership Accelerator (GLA), Re-Build Scholars equips girls and boys with SRHR knowledge, menstrual dignity, mental health support, and the leadership skills to advocate for their own wellbeing.

The challenge

Why girls’ health and wellbeing can’t be ignored

In many rural communities, girls navigate adolescence with little or no access to accurate SRHR information, safe menstrual products, or mental health support. Period poverty, stigma, early marriage and silence around mental health push many out of school long before they can reach their full potential.

Girls’ Leadership Academy (GLA)

The Girls Leadership Accelerator (GLA) empowers vulnerable youth especially girls from rural communities with knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills to take charge of their lives, advocate for their wellbeing, and lead positive change.

SHEvolution Boot Camps

Future change-maker Scholar story

Story of change

Before joining the health and leadership sessions, I was often absent from school when my period started. I felt embarrassed and alone. In our safe space, we talked openly about our bodies and our feelings. I received a menstrual kit and I learned how to take care of myself. Now I help other girls in my class feel less afraid and more confident.

Impact & Achievements

Since its launch in 2023, GLA has created lasting impact through inclusive education and mentorship. Our approach empowers youth to become changemakers in their communities.
